Today was the feast of St. Francis of Assi (the patron saint of animals) In his honor, churches usually bless pets on this day. I used to take my dog every year while I was growing up. Amanda's school had a little celebration and invited the kids to bring either a picture of their pet, a stuffed animal or invited their pets to attend a small prayer service in their school courtyard. Abbey and I took Madeline and Slinky cats to the 1/2 hour service. It was sweet. Amanda was so excited that we were there. Slinky is in the stroller in his carry bag and I was holding Madeline in her travel bag.
